Japanese Language Course

The MIA offers a beginner-level Japanese-language course for foreign residents who live in Minato City and neighboring areas. Participants can learn the basics of the Japanese language, as well as useful Japanese expressions for everyday living. Participants are divided into three classes, and each class is conducted three times a year (commencing in April, September, and January).

Step 1: For those who are studying Japanese for the first time
Step 2: For those who have completed step 1 or who can read Hiragana
Step 3: For those who have completed step 2 or who can read Hiragana and Katakana

Tuition

Step1 MIA members: ¥9,000 Non-members: ¥10,000
Step2 MIA members: ¥9,500 Non-members: ¥12,000
Step3 MIA members: ¥9,500 Non-members: ¥12,000

※Textbooks will be provided at no charge.
※ There is a 50% subsidy for course fees provided by Minato City for those who live, work or study in Minato City.
