| Notes |
The Minato International Association (MIA) hosts a bi-monthly event called “Minato TABUNKA Cine-Talk”, The film we will be screening is the documentary Midnight Traveler, which follows a family from Afghanistan as they seek asylum, filmed entirely on smartphones. Director Hassan Fazili and his family embark on a journey to escape life-threatening danger and find a safe place to live. Through harsh conditions at borders and unstable life in refugee camps, the film portrays the very human story of a family behind the word “refugee.” After the screening, there will be a discussion session where participants can freely share their thoughts and impressions. Everyone is welcome, whether you want to have an in-depth conversation about the film or just join casually. The film features audio mainly in Persian, English, Turkish, and Bulgarian, with Japanese and English subtitles.
