Notes |
Minato International Association (MIA) holds a bi-monthly film screening and group discussion event called “Minato TABUNKA Cine-Talk.” Under the concept of “Nurturing an Intercultural Community Through Film,” we screen works that offer diverse global perspectives.
Our first screening features the documentary film “HAFU,” which follows the real lives of five half-Japanese individuals living in Japan, prompting deep reflection on identity, sense of belonging, and diversity. The film carefully portrays their joys and struggles, offering new perspectives on what it means to be “hafu” in contemporary Japan. After the screening, there will be time for participants to freely share their thoughts and opinions.
*Japanese dialogue includes English subtitles, and English dialogue includes Japanese subtitles.
In cooperation with: Department of Child Development and Education, Faculty of Psychology, Meiji Gakuin University
